Stakeholders involved in the management of major events are being given the unique opportunity to understand the complex delivery of the Paralympics first hand during the Games Experience Programme in Rio de Janeiro between 12-14 September 2016. And for a limited time, this high level experience will be available at a special discounted rate.

Forming part of the IPC Academy Campus – which includes programmes developed by the International Paralympic Committee’s educational division and its partner the World Academy of Sport (WAoS) – the Games Experience Programme (GEP) is aimed at governments and those involved in the supply chain of the Paralympic Games. Specifically, it aims to deliver a multi stakeholder perspective of Games management by providing unprecedented insights and privileged access to understanding and observing specific core operating functions.

Standing alongside but distinct from the IPC Observers’ Programme, the GEP allows governments and other stakeholders to immerse themselves in a tailored learning programme and network with their industry peers. The programme of the GEP is structured and delivered across three core themes, one for each day, followed by targeted site visits to related competition and non-competition venues:

Day 1: Winning Strategies for Major Sport Events

Day 2: The making of a Successful Host City: Networks, Infrastructure and Legacy

Day 3: Marketing & Broadcasting

This strategic level programme will provide attendees with the opportunity to hear from and engage with a number of key Event Organisers from the Organising Committees of the Olympic and Paralympic Games for PyeongChang 2018, Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 among other major sports event representatives.

A must-attend Cocktail Reception will bring proceedings to a close on 16 September and allow attendees to network with all participants of the Campus, which also includes the IPC Observers’ Programme and Inclusion Summit.

Until 13 May 2016, booking a place on the Games Experience Programme will be available at a special rate of EUR 4,250 representing a saving of 15% on the usual delegate price. This will then increase to EUR 4,500 on 30 June (a 10% saving) and then revert to the full rate of EUR 5,000 thereafter if places are still available. VAT is not applicable. With places strictly limited however, we encourage you to book as soon as possible to avoid missing out on this unique opportunity.
