Approximately 10 minutes after trading, Twitter shares were trading 3.7 percent higher.
However, the technology-rich Nasdaq composite index lost 0.5 percent and the broad-based S&P 500 lost 1.18 percent.
The benchmark Dow Jones industrial average fell by 1 percent.
