This Sunday, April 10, the National Electoral Institute (INE) will hold an unprecedented democratic exercise in the country: the popular consultation on Mandate Revocation, where more than 93 million Mexicans will be able to vote if President Andrés Manuel López Obrador resigns from office due to “loss of trust”, or continues until 2024.
However, there will be citizens who will want to participate in the consultation despite being far from home, considering that this weekend began for many people the Easter holidays.
In this context, of the 57,516 boxes that the INE will install, 300 will be special boxes, where this sector of the electorate will be able to vote. That is, there will be one for each district of the country, that number is equivalent to 0.52% of the total.
Special boxes will be placed in schools, sports, shopping centers, as well as bus station and airports, mainly.
There will be 2,000 ballots in each box, so it is recommended to go early, since in past electoral processes, when 1,500 ballots have been distributed, they are usually finished in the early hours of opening.
According to the INE list, the State of Mexico will be the entity with the highest number of special boxes, with 41; followed by Mexico City, with 24, and then Veracruz, with 20.

“Remember that special polls only receive people who are outside the electoral section corresponding to their domicile. If the special box is inside your electoral section, go to the box that corresponds to you”, informs the Institute.
