COPENHAGEN (AP) — Christian Eriksen was summoned to Denmark's national team on Tuesday for the first time since he vanished due to cardiac arrest during a European Championship match in June.

The 30-year-old steering wheel, who uses a cardioverter defibrillator, resumed his career last month with Brentford in the English Premier League.

Denmark will play a friendly away against the Netherlands on March 26 and will host Serbia on March 29 as part of its preparation for the Qatar World Cup in November.

“Christian is in excellent physical condition,” said Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand. “I was able to see him play against Burnley last Saturday and he was the best on the court. He is a player who thinks faster than the others.”
