Just days before the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games begin, Paris 2024 has revealed its website cataloguing all of the 770 Pre-Games Training Camps chosen for Olympic and Paralympic athletes to prepare for the Paris 2024 Games. Available in English, Spanish and French at https://prepare.paris2024.org/, the platform has been created to provide Olympic and Paralympic delegations with information about the sports facilities that they can use as their base camps.
A unique search engine for finding the perfect sports facilities for athletes to prepare for Paris 2024
Designed first and foremost for athletes from all over the world, as well as National Olympic Committees (NOC) and National Paralympic Committees (NPC), the Pre-Games Training Camp catalogue lists over 770 sports facilities that are in with a chance of hosting athletes as they prepare for the Paris 2024 Games. As soon as the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games are over, athletes from all over the world will be able to find their bearings in one of the more than 410 areas with local training camps that have been awarded the “Terre de Jeux 2024” label. The highest quality sports facilities and host services have been selected so that athletes can train in top-class surroundings.
All of these facilities are now listed in an intuitive and easy-to-use platform that enables foreign sports delegations to discover and choose training camps based on specific criteria, according to the disciplines they need to practice and any additional options that they require – such as on-site accommodation, a weights room, sauna, infirmary, adapted vehicle hire service, etc. – and according to the geographical location and even the local climate.
Updated regularly, the catalogue will be refreshed with new training camps as they are selected; for example, centres where athletes can prepare for the new sports in the Olympic programme (sport climbing, skateboarding, breaking and surfing) will be added in October.
The catalogue has been designed to facilitate communication between Olympic and Paralympic delegations and areas with the “Terre de Jeux 2024” label whose sports facilities were chosen as Pre-Games Training Camps last October. NOCs and NPCs can use the platform to carry out their initial searches for facilities and then contact the local authorities in areas with the “Terre de Jeux 2024” label that have their own local training camps.

Every region of France and almost all departments (95 out of 101) far and wide, such as Corsica, Reunion Island, New Caledonia and Brittany, are all represented in the catalogue. This widespread geographical distribution highlights France’s rich local diversity and is a testimony to the high quality sports facilities all over the country.
The Pre-Games Training Camp catalogue will therefore not only showcase sports facilities, but also the wealth of heritage across the country via a specific page that redirects users to the government website https://www.france.fr/fr and enables the delegations to discover their host regions through local tourism, culture, food and history.
