(ATR) The EDF Group has joined Paris 2024 as a premium partner for a five year period.

As the official electricity and gas supplier for the Games, the EDF Group aims to work closely with organizers in order for Paris 2024 to become environmentally efficient, along with raising awareness on energy consumption in France.

The EDF Group closely identifies with the values of the Olympic and Paralympic movements, and has supported a group of athletes known as Team EDF.

For over 15 years, the EDF Group has worked with four French Federations with the goal of popularizing and promoting accessibility in para sports.

"With EDF, we are delighted to welcome aboard a company with roots in the day-to-day lives of French people, which

will help us achieve our ambition of making sure the Games are open to as many people as possible," Paris 2024 boss Tony Estanguet said in a statement.

"Together we are also taking up the challenge of organising the most environmentally friendly Olympic and Paralympic Games possible, with the objective to power all of our sites with renewable electricity. We share the same vision with EDF: to organise Games for our times."

Tissot and the 2021 World Games

Tissot will serve as the official timekeeper and results service for the 11th edition of The World Games

3,600 athletes from 100 countries will compete in over 30 sports at the next World Games in Birmingham, Alabama from July 15-25, 2021.

The Swiss watchmaker has been a partner of The World Games since 2009 and IWGA President José Perurena calls the company "an integral part of The Games' success with the services and professionalism they provide."

Tissot President François Thiébaud stated "The World Games reflect the Tissot spirit perfectly through their diversity and dynamism, and allow us to set ourselves apart with impeccable timekeeping and the most accurate measurement, which further confirms the quality of our watches.

"Even though we have provided our services to The World Games before, we strive to bring even more precision and innovation on every occasion, as we do for our watches. "Innovators by tradition" is our motto and we stand by it."
