Lausanne – Switzerland, March 2nd, 2017 – Smart Cities & Sport, the multiplatform initiative that allows cities from all around the world to learn, share and connect around smart strategies that link cities to sport, is very proud to announce that it has signed an Official Supporter partnership for the SportAccord Convention 2017, which will be organised in Aarhus, Denmark on April 2-7, 2017.

As part of this partnership, Melanie Duparc, Coordinator of Smart Cities & Sport, will be the facilitator of the SportAccord Convention 2017’s City-to-City session, where participants will have the opportunity to share their experience on key issues that are at the centre of cities’ preoccupations nowadays. This interactive session will take place on Tuesday April 4th, between 9:30am and 10:50am.

As Duparc explains, this partnership is an additional opportunity for sport cities to exchange and discuss smart initiatives that connect sport with cities: "The purpose of Smart Cities & Sport is to stimulate and encourage dialogue between cities from all around the world on the key issues of today. More than three years ago already, we organised the first Smart Cities & Sport Summit, the first conference specifically tailored for cities to discuss common challenges and opportunities linked to sport. Later this year, we will organise the fourth edition, which we will announce soon. In January 2016, we have launched the Smart Cities & Sport website, to enable cities to keep the discussion alive all year long. We are thrilled about the addition of this new partnership with the SportAccord Convention, which provides cities with a new opportunity to learn, share and connect."

It is focused on driving positive change internationally and dedicated to engaging and connecting; international sport federations, rights holders, organising committees, cities, press and media, businesses and other organisations involved in the development of sport.
