Skating Elects New President

(ATR) The international federation for ice skating chooses among four candidates in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

(ATR) The International Skating Union elects a new leader at its congress in Dubrovnik.

Three candidates are on the ballot for the presidency. The winner will succeed Ottavio Cinquanta, who has held the post since 1994.

The candidates:

French Ice Sports Federation president Didier Gailhaguet

Former singles skater Gyorgy Sallak of Hungary

Former ice dancer Christopher Buchanan of Great Britain

ISU vice president Jan Dijkema of the Netherlands
