The 2019 South American Beach Games will go down in sports history as a turning point in the organization of Beach multi-sport competitions. They also marked the materialization of the vision of the South American Sports Organization (ODESUR) to promote sustainable, efficient events with a strong social legacy.

Rosario 2019 was an unforgettable party. The warmth of the locals put a memorable frame to the extraordinary performance of the 800 competing athletes, the heroes of the Games, who their effort became a source of inspiration for the entire region.

For the first time, an event of this kind was held on the shores of a river and with all temporary structures. Out of the 13 sports of the sports program, 12 took place in a single venue, the beach of La Florida, on the majestic Paraná River.

"Rosario has become the South American capital of beach sports. They have organized some wonderful Games that mark a before and after for events of this nature. The organizational capacity has been excellent. I have nothing but words of gratitude for having made these beautiful Games possible, "said ODESUR president, and IOC Member Camilo Pérez López Moreira.

"The athletes gave it all in the different competitions in an atmosphere of friendship and fair play. They have given an example to the whole world. As well as the volunteers, whose effort has been key to the success of the Games, "he added.

The program "The school goes to the Games" of the Organizing Committee Rosario 2019, a key piece of the legacy of the event, allowed 20,000 schoolchildren to witness the competitions.

The paradigm of sustainability and efficiency promoted by ODESUR has been shown in the strong interest expressed by several South American cities for organizing their multi-sport events, which led the organization to advance this year the start of the candidacy process for the South American Beach Games of 2023 and the 2026 South American Games.
