(ATR) Rio 2016 tells Around the Rings it is setting up a website to handle final reimbursements for returned Olympic and Paralympic tickets.

Rio 2016 is in the process of providing reimbursements for 140,000 people who purchased tickets for the Games, before asking for a refund. The tickets were then promptly resold in the Rio 2016 marketplace.

Of the 140,000 reimbursements, 20,000 remain outstanding. Rio 2016 confirmed to ATR the outstanding payments, but said the consumers came from those who reported the wrong ticket numbers, or gave incorrect account numbers to receive payment.

"Glitch is more of a precise term than problem," Mario Andrada, Rio 2016 Director of Communications, said. "The Rio 2016 committee reiterates that we are honoring our commitments. We are launching a website for people to fill out information so it goes straight to the bank for payment."

Andrada said that he expects no problems in delivering the final round of reimbursements, given how the committee has already processed 120,000 of them.

Originally, ticket reimbursements were supposed to be processed within 30 days of the completion of the Rio 2016 Games.
