(ATR) A veteran communications firm will seek to grow PyeongChang 2018’s communication strategy through the next Winter Olympiad.
Hill+Knowlton Strategies said in a statement the firm won an 18-month tender to amplify communications for the Games. The communications firm will work alongside PyeongChang 2018’s current media personnel, and will "provide strategic counsel on crisis and issues preparation and response," according to a release.
Lorna Campbell will lead the H+K initiative out of the company’s Asia-Pacific department. The partnership is expected to boost PyeongChang 2018's international promotion, a topic that has been discussed at previous Coordination Commission meetings.
This will be the fourth Olympic Games H+K will have assisted organizing committees. The firm previously worked on the Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010, and London 2012 Olympics.
Andy Sutherden, H+K Global Head of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship said in a statement, H+K’s strategy will be "connecting and inspiring the world" about PyeongChang 2018.
"It is important to raise the international profile of PyeongChang 2018 to generate enthusiasm and positively represent the Olympic Games," Hyung-koo Yeo, PyeongChang 2018 secretary General, said in a statement. "Securing the right communications partner to work with our in-house team is key to this, and we are confident that H+K brings a fresh approach that will see our Olympic dream brought to life across the globe."
