(ATR) The Prince of Monaco is the latest Olympian to lend his support to Ebola victims in West Africa.
On Friday, five-time Olympian and IOC member HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco spoke about #TargetEbola outside of the Grimaldi Palace, according to a World Olympians Association statement. #TargetEbola is a new WOA campaign designed to raise money and support for Ebola victims in Sierra Leone.
"As Olympians we are in a privileged position to help others who are less fortunate than us," HSH Prince Albert II was quoted as saying.
"It is our responsibility to spread the values of Olympism and provide support for those who need it most."
"That is why I am encouraging my Olympian colleagues, my friends in the Olympic Family and those in the wider world of sport to help in any way they can by supporting the #TargetEbola campaign," he concluded
HSH Prince Albert II also made a video urging Olympians to support the campaign, which can be found here.
With his support, HSH Prince Albert II joins the likes of Olympic figures such as Usain Bolt, Carl Lewis, Sergey Bubka, Claudia Bokel, Koji Murofushi, Pernilla Wiberg and Yang Yang, who have already pledged to support the campaign.
