(ATR) Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet and chief executive officer Etienne Thobois will both make more than a quarter million dollars a year.

The salaries of Paris 2024’s leaders were formally established during the Organizing Committee’s first board of directors meeting on March 2.

Estanguet will make €270,000 ($332,451) a year while Thobois will collect €260,000 ($320,138) gross until the year 2020. The salaries for the top executives could increase as much as 20 percent depending on their performance in the first two years of preparing for the Summer Olympics.

The months leading up to the salary confirmation fueled speculation about what the salaries would be, particularly among French media that questioned the bid’s expenditures during the bidding cycle and victory lap after Lima.

Friday’s board meeting was held in Saint Denis where the Games will be utilized to help transform the region. The board of directors includes the Paris 2024 leadership, public authorities, athletes and community leaders.

The board of directors meeting also likely discussed the next round of hires for the Organizing Committee following the conclusion of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympics.
