(ATR) Wanted: a chief executive officer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Organizing Committee.

The host city of the 2024 Summer Games has opened the recruitment process for a top-level executive who will work directly with Paris 2024 chairman Tony Estanguet.

The employment page for the Organizing Committee opened on Nov. 21 and only features the chief executive officer position at this time.

Categories for future jobs listed on the site include general coordination and direction, public affairs, international relations, technical and sports, communication and engagement, finance and administration and partnerships.

The recruitment is being run by Odgers Berndtson, the executive search companyused to find London 2012 CEO Paul Deighton and top executives for Sochi 2014 and Rio 2016.

In the application, Paris 2024 says it is seeking a leader who has significant experience managing international projects, running sport events, managing a demanding and international high growth organization and – most importantly – the "ability to understand the issues of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, to evolve there and build partnership relationships with key players".

The frontrunner for the position is the CEO of the Paris 2024 bid committee Etienne Thobois. However, interested applicants have until Dec. 1 to throw their name into the hat.

Once applications are obtained, Odgers Berndtson will select a few finalists who will then be reviewed by a seven-person commission, according to Francs Jeux.

The commission includes Estanguet, IOC member Guy Drut, French Olympic Committee President Denis Masseglia, French Paralympic Committee President Emmanuelle Assmann, French government official for the Olympics Jean Castex, Ile-de-France former sports minister Jean-Francois Lamour and Paris deputy mayor Jean-Francois Martins.

It is expected that a decision will be made before the new year, potentially on Dec. 21 when Paris 2024 holds a board of directors meeting.
