(ATR) Saint-Clair Milesi joins the Paris 2024 bid as its communications director following his role with the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

A dual citizen of Brazil and Italy, Milesi has 11 years of experience in campaign communications on top of seven years of experience as a journalist in the United States and Brazil.

Milesi was a member of the newly formed Rio 2016 organizing committee until 2010 when he left to chair the communications department for the World Cup. Milesi has also served as the media officer for the United States State Department and editor of the largest Brazilian news service O Globo.

The communications specialist who is fluent in French, English and Portuguese takes over the Paris 2024 communications strategy with less than a year remaining in the race to host the Summer 2024 Olympics.

"We are delighted to appoint Saint-Clair as Communications Director for the vital remaining months of the campaign," said Paris 2024 chief executive officer Etienne Thobois. "The appointment of an international citizen as our Communications Director reaffirms the global approach of the bid and he will work on domestic media and in close collaboration with our international communications agency, VERO."

Milesi says he will draw upon all of his experience to help secure Paris 2024 the victory when the IOC chooses the 2024 host city in Lima in 2017.

"I can see Paris as a city and as a bid has a great offer to the Olympic Movement and I'm looking forward to working with all colleagues and stakeholders to help bring the Games to Paris in 2024," said Milesi.

Budapest 2024 Releases CGI of Archery Venue

The Budapest 2024 bid team is providing a glimpse of what its temporary archery venue will look like if the city is chosen as the 2024 Olympic host.

The bid released computer generated images of the archery competition that is slated to be staged at Kossuth Square near the Parliament building and on the banks of the Danube River.

The location allows fans at the 4,000 seat venue views of Hungary’s symbolic center that is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Budapest 2024 is working with UNESCO to ensure the venue plans are sustainable and environmentally friendly.

"The Parliament Square Archery Centre is an example of how planners are creating temporary and sustainable venues at landmark locations in order to maximize the spectator experience whilst meeting strict protection requirements for UNESCO sites," said chairman of the Budapest 2024 Sustainability Advisory Board Pál Baross.
