(ATR) The newly launched Olympic Channel is taking advantage of its opportunities at the Sportel Convention currently underway in Monaco.

Despite a slightly diminished presence at this year’s sports marketing and media conference, the Olympic Channel is part of the IOC stand on the exhibition floor at the Grimaldi Forum, the home of the annual show.

At the 2015 edition of Sportel, the Olympic Channel executives made a presentation and hosted panel discussions about the then upcoming project.

One year later, the Olympic Channel is two months into operations and already has content partnerships with 27 International Federations.

Although there is no presentation this year, the channel has already made a splash in Monaco, announcing partnerships with six more IFs on day two of the event.

The IFs of cycling, figure skating/speed skating and luge as well as three of the new sports on the Tokyo 2020 Olympic program - baseball/softball, karate and sport climbing - will collaborate with the Olympic Channel to provide content.

"We look forward to working with our IF partners to extend the reach of Olympic sports and athletes outside of the Games themselves," said Olympic Channel general manager Mark Parkman.

"Since we launched the Olympic Channel just two months ago, our IF partnerships have already contributed greatly to our programming line-up through live events, social media content, promotion and more ensuring that fans are able to continue their excitement of Rio and the Olympic Games all year long."

The annual Sportel Monaco convention will draw to a close on Oct. 27.
