(ATR) The U.S. Olympic Committee will select a 2024 bid city in 2015.
In a day-long meeting the USOC Board heard from the four Olympic aspirants in the U.S.; Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington D.C. The Board will wait until 2015 to select a city to be the U.S. applicant for the 2024 Olympics.
Presentations took place in Redwood City, Calif.
The IOC opened the new, "invitation phase" of bidding recently and will continue the initial phases of bidding through next year.A host will be selected at the IOC Session in 2017.
On Dec. 15, Rome announced it will bid for the 2024 Olympics.
Bids are expected from several other countries including France and Germany.
