Olympic Channel announced that production has just started on a new documentary on Picabo Street – the iconic skier who took home gold in the Super-G at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan. The film, slated for release in Winter 2022, will explore Picabo’s childhood, her difficult road to the gold medal, rise to fame, and enduring legacy. The project, directed by Lindsey Vonn and Frank Marshall, will be Vonn’s first film project via her new production company Après Productions. As the film is just starting production, below is a run-down of what we can share at this stage:

The Picabo Street film project will be part of the Olympic Channel’s signature documentary series, Five Rings Films. These are incisive and entertaining documentaries directed by some of the biggest names in film from around the world. In addition to depictions of iconic individuals and record-breaking teams, each feature length film showcases the incredible humanity, variety and achievements of the modern Olympic era.

The project will be directed by Lindsey Vonn and Frank Marshall. It is Vonn’s first film project via her new production company Après Productions. Lindsey Vonn co-founded Après Productions with her partner and longtime friend, Claire Brown, to create content that will tell untold athlete's stories.

Five Rings Films is produced for the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) global media platform by Frank Marshall and Mandalay Sports Media (MSM).
