Gymnastics begins Thursday and wraps up Sunday in San Jose, California.
Together, those three teams accounted for 64 of USA’s table-topping 110 total medals at Beijing 2008.
USOC Board Meeting
U.S. Olympic Committee leaders will hold their first formal discussions on a potential Games bid since last month's signing of a new revenue-sharing deal with the IOC.
Last-minute preparations for London are also likely to be discussed at the Board of Directors meeting, scheduled for Thursday morning in San Jose, California.
Hoops Qualifying
FIBA’s final five spots for the women’s Olympic basketball tournament at London 2012 are up for grabs this week in Ankara, Turkey.
Argentina, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Japan, Korea, Mali, Mozambique, New Zealand, Puerto Rico and Turkey are the dozen teams in the hunt.
Play runs Monday through Sunday with first, second and fourth finishers joining Angola, China and four-time defending Olympic champions USA in Group A at the Games.
Brazil, Great Britain, Russia, reigning runner-up Australia as well as the third and fifth teams from Ankara are bound for Group B in London.
