IOC Inspects Istanbul
Members of the IOC Evaluation Commission for the 2020 Olympics wrap up their inspection tour this week.
After stops earlier this month in Tokyo and last week in Madrid, their visit to Istanbul kicked off Sunday and runs through Wednesday.
Around the Rings will be on the scene as usual, filing frequent updates as well as daily podcasts.
Annecy 2013 CISM World Winter Games
ATR will be on the scene in Annecy this week for the 2013 CISM World Winter Games.
Competition kicks off Monday in six sports – two of them specific to the military – and runs through Friday.

Men’s Curling World Champs
Competition begins Saturday at the 2013 World Men's Curling Championship in Victoria, British Columbia.
The hosts Canada are the defending champs, but will face challenges from China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Japan, Norway, Russia, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland and USA.
Preliminary matches run through Thursday.
According to the quirky Page playoff system, the top two finishers then face off Friday night with the winner going straight to the gold medal game. The loser, however, then plays the winner of Saturday morning’s 3 versus 4 matchup with the other spot in Sunday’s final at stake.
