IOC Conference Calls

All five 2020 applicant cities will present the technical aspects of their bids to an IOC panel Wednesday in 45-minute video conference slots, which will include a question and answer session.

It's a first for any bidding race, a chance for the bids to flesh out the details of their applicant files.

Taekwondo Assembly, Junior WC

Around the Rings will be on the scene in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt this week for meetings of the World Taekwondo Federation and the WTF’s World Junior Taekwondo Championships.

The WTF Council convenes Monday with the General Assembly Tuesday and events opening Wednesday.

The biennial champs draw a total of 749 athletes, including 330 females, and 426 officials from 93 countries. Competition runs through Sunday.

Men’s Curling Worlds

Spots at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics are up for grabs this week at the 2012 World Men's CurlingChampionship in Basel, Switzerland.

Group play runs through Thursday with the semifinals set for Saturday and the gold medal game Sunday.
