(ATR) Sponsors are everywhere at the 2017 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Vienna and at times it's hard to discern one from the next.
Austrian mobile services provider A1 is the title sponsor for the signature beach volleyball event, which wraps up this weekend.
Players serve and spike in the raucous 10,000 capacity Red Bull Beach Arena as a strategically placed Smart Car revolves amongst fans. A live DJ revs up the energy, while sponsored by Kronen Zeitung, Austria’s largest newspaper.
Eskimo girl dancers, representing Austria’s national ice cream brand, dance in the stadium and spray spectators with streams of water to keep them cool.
Swiss watchmaker Swatch sponsors the spacious Beach Village, jam-packed with lifestyle sport activities for fans to try, each sponsored by yet more Austrian products, brands and companies.
Twenty-four official sponsors are listed on the event program.
Official FIVB sponsors at the tournament include longtime volleyball maker Mikasa, equipment manufacturer Senoh, Japanese athletics company ASICS and logistics service provider DB Schenker.
Ashgabat Nabs Mastercard
Payments at the 2017 Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games will be processed by Mastercard.
The payment technology company joined the 2017 AIMAG as an official sponsor. The 2017 AIMAG will take place in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan from Sep. 15-24.
Igor Stepanov, Country Manager in Georgia, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan at Mastercard Europe, says the sponsorship "will [help] highlight Turkmenistan in the world’s sport agenda."
"We strongly believe in the high potential of Turkmenistan’s market, not only in terms of cashless payments but also as one of the most exceptional tourist destinations," Stepanov added. "No doubt, the Games in Ashgabat will grant us a spectacular sport show which will leap up the hearts of millions of people all over the world".
USOC Lands Asian Hospitality
Slices of American comfort will be available for visitors at the next two Olympic Games in Asia.
The United States Olympic Committee has finalized two hospitality agreements in South Korea and Japan ahead of the 2018 and 2020 Olympic Games.
In Tokyo, Team USA house will be based at the Tokyo American Club. USOC chief marketing officer Lisa Baird said the club will allow the committee the "platform and the opportunity to do the unimaginable," for Games engagement. Joining Baird at the ceremony was USOC chief executive Scott Blackmun.
Team USA house in Rio de Janeiro was located a block away from Ipanema beach. The American Club is located between Tokyo Bay and the famous Roppongi neighborhood.
