Lausanne Prepares for Sport and Cities Summit

The 5th edition of the Smart Cities and Sport Summit will take place from October 29-31 in Lausanne, the Olympic Capital.

The Summit is a unique conference targeting representatives of cities and regions across the world willing to develop smart strategies that connect sport and cities.

This is an exclusive opportunity to learn from industry experts, share best practices and connect with the international sports world.

In 2018, the Smart Cities and Sport Summit will feature a brand-new format in order to foster interaction among participants and enhance the dynamic throughout the conference.

Cities will have the opportunity to attend masterclasses, take part in debates, ask questions during interviews, and much more.

Smart Cities & Sport is an initiative of the World Union of Olympic Cities, an association of former and future Olympic host cities supported by the International Olympic Committee.

More than 30 speakers including representatives from Ifs, and more than 60 cities from all over the world to attend the Summit.

Over 300 participants expected in Lausanne . Meet with Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee is planned on Oct.30.

What can cities do to encourage women in sport?,Why should cities start thinking of creating sports innovation hubs?, How can data help cities host bigger and more commercially-successful sports events?, How can Africa get the most out of hosting major sport events?, are topics of the meeting.

The Summit will provide a high-level and prestigious platform for the exchange of ideas and experience among cities of all sizes, and representatives from cities interested in sport as a tool for urban development.

Also to representatives from the international sport world including the International Olympic Committee and the International Federations, and sport event organizers.
