(ATR) Christian Klaue makes a quick departure from Germany’s national Olympic committee.

Just four months after becoming media director for German Olympic Sports Federation, DOSB, he’s back at the IOC.

An IOC spokesman confirms the move, first reported by Sportjournalist.de.

The change is effective this week.

According to the report, Klaue will work on a freelance basis with the IOC initially. He will be a member of the IOC comms team in Buenos Aires for the IOC Session and Youth Olympic Games.

Beginning January 1, according to the report, Klaue will serve as interim communications director while the IOC searches for a successor to Rebecca Edwards.

She’s announced her departure in November for a return to the U.S. to help with family care.

Klaue,43, left the IOC shortly after the end of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. He was the IOC spokesman in particular for German press and went to work for the IOC soon after Thomas Bach's election as president in 2013.

"I am grateful to the DOSB for making this change possible for me very quickly and without complications," said Klaue about his time in Frankfurt.
