ISC 2016 Geneva Opens Delegate Registration -- Conferences and Conventions

(ATR) Registration is now open for the International Sports Convention 2016 set for Geneva, Switzerland in December.

The convention that touts itself as the world’s largest business-to-business sports convention will feature 18 separate conferences over the course of the two-day event.

The 2016 edition of the event is expected to bring in more than 200 speakers, 200 exhibitors and 2,000 delegates from Dec. 7-8. This edition also marks the year the convention goes from a bi-annual event to a yearly convention.

"Many of our previous delegates, partners insisted that our event went annually and based on this feedback and evidence, we decided the time was right to go annually," said ISC chief executive Nigel Fletcher.

More than 100 speakers are already confirmed for the event.

CISA Heads to Algiers in 2016

The Africa International Sports Convention turns 10 in 2016 as the conference heads to Algiers, Algeria.

CISA will be held from Apr. 1-3 and is organized by the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (AOC) and the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).

"Day by day, year by year, CISA is becoming, an central tool for the development of sport in Africa," said AOC president and ANOCA vice president Moustapha Berraf. "It is an event with a great international scope that we are proud to welcome in order to celebrate its 10th edition."

CISA is organized every year by a different city in Africa. The convention welcomes sports business professionals at a regional and international level.

The convention also features a program to educate children through sport called CISA Kids, a gala dinner, Athletes’ Seminar and a Seminar for African Sports Journalists.

Head of Twitter Sports Shares Tips at The Academy

Alex Trickett is one of the speakers for The Academy 2016 to be held in Lausanne, Switzerland from June 1-2. The Academy 2016 is organized by TSE Consulting.

As Head of Sport at Twitter, Trickett will share practical tools and tips on how to effectively use social media to reach fans and new audiences with attendees of the conference held in the Olympic Museum.

Trickett will provide a particular focus on engaging audiences in the lead up to and during the Rio 2016 Games in August. He will share tips on how to communicate about an athlete’s or country’s results and how to get more supporters for sports federations. The presentation will focus on using Twitter, Vine and Periscope as the most user-friendly platforms.

"It has never been easier to reach out to so many people as it is right now," says Trickett. "Every sport federation, whether it operates on a national or international level, has the potential to engage with billions of fans worldwide!"

"I want every sport leader at the Academy in June to leave with the right tools and tips to be successful on social media and transfer their passion for their sport to their audience!"

AGES 2016 Names Speakers

The Association of Global Event Suppliers 2016 convention will take place on Feb. 29 in St. Augustine, Florida.

AGES 2016 named its key speakers on Jan. 15, selecting a range ofinternational sports experts from NOCs and organizing committees,including Peru NOC president Jose Quiñones and USOC chief of externalaffairs Patrick Sandusky.

Quiñones will discuss the key strategies of Peru in landinginternational events as well as preparations for the Pan American Gamesin Lima in 2019. Quiñones is expected to invite event suppliers toinvest in Peru.

Sandusky will detail the organizational structure of the United StatesOlympic Committee as well as what it takes for candidate cities to landinternational events.

IOC senior Olympic advisor Gilbert Felli will also speak at the eventalong with Toronto 2015 vice president of Games overlay John Baker andGerald Anderson, global chairman of Populous.
