IOC STATEMENT ON MR CHING-KUO WU

IT IS WITH GREAT RESPECT THAT THE IOC EXECUTIVE BOARD TODAY HAD TO ACCEPT THE RESIGNATION OF MR CHING-KUO WU FROM HIS STATUS AS IOC MEMBER.

Mr Wu has resigned from his IOC membership following medical advice. The IOC Executive Board, in accordance with Rule 16.3.1 of the Olympic Charter, accepts his resignation and expresses its thanks and respect to Mr Wu. He has contributed for more than 30 years to the Olympic Movement. In his professional capacity as an architect, he initiated the construction of several Olympic museums. He was also the Chair of the IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission for many years.

The IOC would like to thank Mr Wu for all the many services to Olympic sports and the Olympic Movement over so many years, and wishes him all the very best for his health, and his private and professional life.
