IOC Releases Evaluation of 2022 Olympic Bids -- Monday Memo

(ATR) On Monday, the IOC Evaluation Commission for the 2022 Winter Olympics will release a report on bids from Almaty and Beijing.

The IOC Executive Board, as well as representatives from Almaty 2022 and Beijing 2022, will meet at IOC headquarters in Lausanne, June 7-10.

Bid teams from Almaty, Kazakhstan and Beijing will present to the IOC on June 9.

FIFA Women's World Cup

Canada kicks off the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup on June 6.

The quadrennial tournament will be the seventh FIFA Women's World Cup.

The top three teams from the Union of European Football Associations will qualify to compete at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Twenty-four teams from six confederations will compete in 52 matches at the FIFA Women's World Cup this year.

Edmonton, Moncton, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver and Winnipeg will host matches.Competition ends on July 5.

Athletics Diamond League Heads to Rome

Rome is hosting the next 2015 IAAF Diamond League meet on June 4.

The event, which will be staged at the Rome Olympic Stadium, is titled the "Golden Gala Pietro Mennea."

Athletes will compete in 32 event disciplines.

The fifth meet of the 2015 Diamond League season is slated for Oslo, Norway on June 11.

Southeast Asian Games

The 28th Southeast Asian Games kick off on June 5 in Singapore.

Some 7,000 athletes from 11 countries will participate in the Games.

Competition ends on June 16.
