(ATR) Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark will be spending the next 12 weeks in a neck brace.
The Danish Royal House tells Danish media the International Olympic Committee member fractured his cervical spine in a trampoline accident during a private event at a gymnasium.
The 48-year-old’s injury forced him to cancel a scheduled reception for Danish athletes who took part in the Rio Paralympics.
But the Royal House says the neck brace will not limit his public appearances in the weeks ahead. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Frederik became an IOC member in 2009 and is currently on the coordination commissions for the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang and the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne.
