(ATR)Rio 2016 will brief media from around the world on preparations for next year's Olympic Games this week.

The third and final Rio 2016 Press Operations Briefing will take place in Rio de Janeiro from Oct. 5-8.

It is the final chance for domestic and international press to meet with Rio 2016 organizers for one-on-one meetings to prepare for Games operations in less than a year's time.

A spokesperson from Rio 2016 toldAround the Rings, 365 media representatives will be attending the final briefing.

ATReditor Ed Hula, ATR reporter Aaron Bauer, and ATR director ofbusiness development Ed Hula III will be in Rio to speak with organizers and city leaders following the briefing.

World BoxingChampionships

The 2015 World AmateurBoxingChampionships are kicking off in Doha on Oct. 5.

The International Boxing Association will open the championships at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena in the Qatari capital.

Organizers say 260 boxers will compete at this year's championships.

Beyond vying for a world champion title, boxers will be competing for 23 Olympic quota places for the 2016 Summer Games.Competition ends on Oct. 18.

ATRreporter Kevin Nutley will be in Doha to cover the event, Oct. 9-16.

IOC Athletes Forum

The seventh IOC Athletes Forum is taking place in Lausanne, Oct. 8-11.

The forum is an annual three-day meeting for the IOC Athletes' Commission where members gather to discuss matters important to Olympians.

WADA Briefing

The World Anti-Doping Agency will hold its North America media symposium on Oct. 7 in Montreal.

At the meeting, WADA will brief media members on the prevalence of doping in sport today, what the current challenges are in anti-doping and major advances in testing.

ATR associate editor Nick Devlin will be in attendance at the briefing.

Hamburg 2024 Presents to IOC

On Oct. 9, Hamburg Mayor Olaf Scholz and German Olympic Sports Confederation president Alfons Hoermann will make a presentation to the publicon the city's 2024 bid.

The pair will discuss Hamburg 2024's bidding concept and venue plans as part of efforts to increase support for the Olympic campaign.

Hamburg is bidding for the 2024 Games along with Budapest, Los Angeles, Paris and Rome, with the IOC vote coming in September 2017.

FIFA Ethics Panel

ATR understands that the FIFA Ethics Committee may rule on its investigation into Chung Mong-joon this week.

The South Korean, who is vying for the FIFA presidency, is under investigation by the ethics panel.The committee is expected to meet on Monday or Tuesday to examine the corruption allegations against Chung.

This will likely be followed by a statement about its probe, which could hinder his chances of continuing in the FIFA presidential race.

Lillehammer 2016 Coordination Commission

The Coordination Commission for the second Winter Youth Olympic Games meets in Lillehammer, Oct. 5-6.

The Norwegian town is hosting the 2016 Winter YOG Feb. 12-21. Over 1,000 athletes, ages 15-18, from 70 countries will compete in 70 medal events.

Members of the coordination commission for the Lillehammer 2016 Winter YOG, chaired by Angela Ruggiero, include René Fasel, Gian-Franco Kasper, Adam Pengilly, and Yang Yang.
