(ATR) Worldwide TOP sponsor Intel is bringing esports to PyeongChang ahead of next February’s Olympic Winter Games.

Intel, with the support of the IOC, will deliver two distinct gaming experiences to Korea.

The first will be the Intel Extreme Masters PyeongChang esports tournament featuring Blizzard Entertainment’s "StarCraft II". The tournament will be open to any player at any level via online global qualifiers beginning this month.

Secondly, Intel will be holding a separate exhibition featuring Ubisoft’s action-sports title "Steep Road to the Olympics," which is the official licensed game of PyeongChang 2018.

Game kiosks set up throughout the Olympic Village will feature "Steep Road to the Olympics," with Olympic and gaming fans getting the opportunity to compete to be the best. Additional competition and qualification details will be shared later this month.

"We are proud to have our Worldwide TOP Partner Intel bring this competition to PyeongChang in the lead up to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games," Timo Lumme, managing director, IOC Television and Marketing Services said in a statement.

"Following on from the Olympic Summit last week, the IOC will now explore esport’s relationship with the Olympic Movement further. This is the start of an exciting future and we’re interested to see how this experience will play out."

Fans can follow the action and watch the competition unfold on the Olympic Channel global digital platform. Additional broadcast and digital partners are expected to be announced in the near future.

Bridgestone Launches Olympic Winter Games Marketing Campaign

Bridgestone Americas launched a new integrated marketing campaign to mark 100 days to the PyeongChang Winter Games.

The Worldwide TOP sponsor’s U.S. campaign is called "Clutch Performance" and includes a TV commercial starring Olympic bronze medalist figure skater Ashley Wagner and a new, interactive digital brand experience featuring Bridgestone’s Team USA athletes.

"Ashley Wagner is one of the world’s best figure skaters, famous for her precision, accuracy and gripping performances on the ice," said Philip Dobbs, chief marketing officer, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations. "She knows what it means to perform when it matters most, making her the perfect athlete to help us prove how Bridgestone Potenza tires are engineered to come through in the clutch."

In addition to Wagner, Nathan Chen (figure skating), Amy Purdy (para-snowboarding), Evan Strong (para-snowboarding) and Elana Meyers Taylor (bobsled) will be included in a series of online videos profiling Team Bridgestone and highlighting both the athletes and Bridgestone tires.

The athletes will also be featured throughout the company’s dealer and retail store networks on promotional materials designed to engage consumers through the upcoming Winter Games.

USOC, Polo Ralph Lauren Unveil Closing Ceremony Uniforms for Team USA

The U.S. Olympic Committee and Polo Ralph Lauren used the celebration of the 100-day countdown to PyeongChang to unveil the Closing Ceremony uniforms for Team USA.

Olympic silver medalist Gus Kenworthy (freestyle skiing), Olympic gold medalist Jamie Anderson (snowboarding), and Olympians Maia and Alex Shibutani (figure skating, ice dance) debuted the looks on NBC’s TODAY show on Nov. 1.

The PyeongChang 2018 Games mark the sixth time Polo Ralph Lauren has been an Official Outfitter of Team USA.

The look "reflects Polo’s iconic and authentic all-American style, infused with a modern sensibility," according to a statement.

The Closing Ceremony uniforms include a water-repellent down jacket in white; a double fleece pant in navy with red stripe detailing; and a vintage sweater in a bold red, white and blue block stripe. Completing the look are wool gloves, a corresponding wool ski hat, a bold graphic bandanna featuring the American flag and brown suede mountaineering boots accented with red laces.

A celebration of Team USA is seen throughout the look in details that include "USA/018" lettering on the leg of the ceremony pant, "Team USA" knitting on the gloves and front brim of the wool hat, and "USA Olympic Team 2018" lettering on the bandanna.

The Polo Ralph Lauren Team USA Collection will be available beginning in December in select Ralph Lauren and Polo Ralph Lauren retail stores and on RalphLauren.com and TeamUSAShop.com.

Gold Coast 2018 Partners With Coates Hire

The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) partners with Australian company Coates Hire as its Official Equipment Hire Supplier.

Coates Hire will provide more than 250 portable buildings for GC2018, 98 of which will be built locally in Brisbane.

The buildings will be used for general administration, ticketing, IT server rooms and media housing for the event.

Building of the installations will begin late this year ahead of the start of the Commonwealth Games in March 2018.

"It is great to see sponsors who were a part of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games continuing to support the Commonwealth Games movement," Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) General Manager, Commercial, Cameron Murray said in a statement.

"Coates Hire know what it takes to deliver major events and I look forward to working with them to stage a successful GC2018."
