(ATR) International Weightlifting Federation leaders and their members are attempting to resolve what has been labeled an "explosive" situation by reaching agreement on a new constitution.
The IOC has warned the federation that it could lose its place on the 2024 Olympic program if it doesn’t get its house in order through new legislation and governance reforms.
An IWF Constitutional Congress – initially scheduled for late March – will be held virtually on June 30, followed by a presidential election to replace interim president Michael Irani at the end of October.

Central American and Caribbean Games Decision Next Month
(ATR) With the visits to Mayaguez and San Salvador now complete, we have to wait for the announcement of which of the two cities will organize the XXIV Central American and Caribbean Games.
A source close to the Executive Committee of Centro Caribe Sports tells Around the Rings that in the next few hours its members will receive a report with details of the inspections of both candidates.
A meeting between the 11 members of the Executive to decide the venue has been delayed from April into May, ATR learned.

Germany to Vaccinate Athletes Before Tokyo 2020
(ATR) The German participants in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo are to receive a timely vaccination offer against COVID-19.
This was decided by the corona Cabinet of the government.
"The Olympic athletes are to be vaccinated in good time before the Games," Steve Alter, spokesman for the German Interior Ministry, said on Monday. He added: "Right now, we expect to be able to ensure that as the vaccination progresses."
