(ATR) The leaders of two international winter federations are guiding their sports to new corners of the world.

Sarah Lewis has been secretary general of International Ski Federation FIS since 2000, one of the longest tenures of any international federation executive, winter or summer. Now 54, she skied competitively for Great Britain, including the 1988 Winter Games. She received an OBE in 2017.

Lewis is a member of the IOC Program Commission and as well as the CoComms for the 2020 YOG in Lausanne and Beijing 2022.

Kate Caithness is president of the World Curling Federation, first elected in 2010, becoming the first women elected president of a winter Olympic federation. She was elected to a final four year term in 2018.

Under her watch, the popularity of curling has soared in the Olympics, as well as at the grassroots level. She is also known for her advocacy for Paralympic curling.

Caithness is a member of the IOC Coordination Commission for Beijing 2022.

A curler herself in Scotland 30+ years ago, Caithness was awarded an OBE in 2012.

The Around the Rings Golden 25 is the annual survey of individuals who will have the most influence for the Olympic Movement in the year ahead. First published in 1997, this is the 22nd edition.
