(ATR) Delegations from the bids from Los Angeles and Paris for the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics are arriving in Lausanne for crucial meetings with the IOC.
French President Emmanuel Macron arrives midday Monday to complete the 13-member team from Paris that includes eight Olympians and Paralympians as well as Mayor Anne Hidalgo and other sports figures.
Paris and Los Angeles will present their plans for the 2024 Games to the IOC during a 90-minute technical briefing July 11.. Los Angeles will go first when the briefing begins at 0900 CET at the Swiss Tech Center Conference Center on the outskirts of Lausanne.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti is the top political figure for the U.S. delegation, indeed the only one. The rest of the 11 members in the U.S. group includes six Olympic and Paralympic athletes and U.S. sport leaders.
