L’année 2020 s’annonçait historique pour l’escalade. La discipline devait effectuer ses débuts aux Jeux de Tokyo 2020 comme sport additionnel. Elle aurait ensuite dû être confirmée, avec le même statut d’invité, pour les Jeux de Paris 2024.

Mais la pandémie de coronavirus a envoyé valser les attentes et les projets de sa fédération internationale (IFSC). Son avenir à court terme est désormais couvert d’un épais nuage de questions sans réponses. Son président, l’Italien Marco Maria Scolaris (photo ci-desous), l’a expliqué à FrancsJeux.
