Ils l’avaient annoncé pour le mois de juin. La crise sanitaire a ralenti leur démarche, mais sans l’envoyer aux oubliettes. Les organisateurs des Jeux de Paris 2024 ont lancé, mardi 21 juillet, le « Club Paris 2024 ». L’initiative est présentée comme inédite dans l’histoire du mouvement olympique. Elle a pour ambition de « casser les codes », pour reprendre l’expression fétiche de Tony Estanguet, le président du COJO.

L’esprit, d’abord. A quatre ans et moins d’une semaine de l’ouverture des Jeux, le « Club Paris 2024 » se veut un trait d’union entre l’événement olympique et paralympique et le grand public. Il a pour vocation de construire une passerelle pour engager la population française, un peu partout sur le territoire, sans avoir à attendre les deux semaines des Jeux. Son slogan résume le propos : « Toi aussi fais les Jeux ».
