(ATR) A Diego Gusmán, Jefe de Misión del Comité Olímpico Argentino (COA), sus elogios a la última dictadura militar le ha costado el puesto en medio de fuertes críticas.
En un grupo de WhatsApp integrado por funcionarios deportivos, Gusmán difundió un vídeo donde ponderaba a los miembros de la dictadura cívico-militar que gobernó a Argentina entre 1976 y 1983
Su intervención ocurrió luego que un miembro del grupo compartió un video institucional de presidencia con motivo del recuerdo del 24 de marzo de 1976,fecha del último golpe de estado, hoy, Día de la Memoria, la Verdad y la Justicia..
Gusmán es Teniente Coronel en activo y fue jefe de misión en los Juegos Olímpicos de Londres y Río de Janeiro, y se perfilaba para la misma función con vistas a los Juegos Olímpicos de Tokio. También ocupó esa dirección en Juegos Panamericanos y Sudamericanos.
Varios federativos reaccionaron y le pidieron explicaciones por carta al presidente del COA Gerardo Werthein, según la prensa de ese país.
Werthein, que es miembro del Comité Olímpico Internacional, fustigó a Gusmán en Twitter.
"En el Comité Olímpico Argentino que me toca presidir no hay espacio para quienes reivindiquen como héroes a condenados por la Justicia por crímenes de lesa humanidad. La diversidad de opiniones no incluye la tolerancia para este tipo de expresiones inaceptables."
La medallista olímpica en hockey sobre césped, Inés Arrondo, actualmente Secretaria de deportes de Argentina, reaccionó también contra el alto oficial, de 54 años, especializado en Educación Física.
Otras fuentes indican que Gusmán se anticipó a la reunión que iba a expulsarlo este lunes y renunció al Comité Olímpico Argentino.
