on October 30, 2011 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. St. Petersburg, Russia's second largest city, is one of thirteen proposed host cities and 2018 will be the first time Russia has hosted the World Cup.

World Sport Congress

The 2013 World Sport Congress is scheduled for Feb. 26-27 in London.

Speakers include Pat McQuaid, president of the International Cycling Union; Enrique Sanz, general secretary of theConfederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football; and Gideon Sam, president of the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee, among others.

Around the Rings Editor Ed Hula will also be speaking at the event.

Leaders in Performance U.S. Summit

For the first time, Leaders in Performance will host a summit in the U.S.

The event will take place June 4-5 at Bloomberg Sports in New York City.

The summit aims to tackle a range of topics including "preparing athletes for peak performance, leadership and culture, innovation, science and technology in a series of talks and workshops to challenge, educate and inspire elite coaches, club owners and top executives."

Bob Bowman, the swimming coach of Michael Phelps, is the conference's first confirmed speaker.

The conference is limited to 300 of the world's leading sport practitioners, with 50 percent coming from outside the U.S.

Speaker Additions for SportAccord

New speakers have been added to the 2013 SportAccord Convention in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games CEO David Grevemberg and Vasily Kiknadze, the CEO of Russia’s ANO Sports Broadcasting, are now confirmed to speak at the event.

Grevemberg and Kiknadze join Andrew Zimbalist, Mihir Bose, Don Shumacher and Beatriz Garcia as the newest speakers for the Convention.

"There is a terrific buzz about sport and the business of sport in Russia and delegates are really going to feel that excitement when they’re networking at our event. The conference program on "The State of Our Industry" will feature many top leaders from sport and business," SportAccord Convention tells Around the Rings.

Sport for All

The 15th IOC World Conference on Sport for All will focus on partnerships, social benefits as well as sports facilities and public spaces.

The event will take place April 24 to 27 in the Miraflores district of Lima, Peru.

Speakers include IOC President Jacques Rogge, Timothy Armstrong, Vancouver Mayor Penny Ballem and a host of IOC members, among others.

"Sport for All is a movement promoting the Olympic ideal that sport is a human right for all individuals regardless of race, social class and gender," says Jose Quinones, President of the Peruvian Olympic Committee.

"It is an honor for the Peruvian National Olympic Committee to host the 15th IOC World Conference on Sport for All, which will bring together, recognized agents of social change to share with us their experiences and best practices aimed at promoting the culture of sport as a healthy and positive lifestyle."
