(ATR) The Association of Summer Olympic International Federations selects United World Wresting (UWW) President Nenad Lalovic as their nominee for a position on the International Olympic Committee Executive Board.

Lalovic emerged Thursday as the winner over International Triathlon Union President Marisol Casado and World Rowing Federation President Jean-Christophe Rolland after two rounds of online voting by the 28 full ASOIF members.

In line with ASOIF rules and statutes, the ASOIF Council approved the formal notification to the IOC, expressing support for Lalovic’s nomination.

His election to the EB will be on the agenda at the next IOC Session, which will be held next month in PyeongChang ahead of the start of the Winter Games.

The opening on the IOC EB came after CK Wu resigned as AIBA president, ASOIF Council member and IOC EB member in November after months of infighting and disputes about the finances of the International Boxing Federation.

Earlier this month, ASOIF contacted the IOC members in the "International Federation category" to gauge interest in applying for the open EB seat.

Casado, an IOC member since 2010, Lalovic (2015), and Rolland (2017) all decided to run for the position.
