(ATR) A veteran of 30 years on the IOC staff celebrates her final day at IOC headquarters.

Annie Inchauspe is the recipient of farewell toasts as she heads to retirement.

In recent years, Inchauspe has staffed the reception desk in Lausanne, but starting from 1984 through 2001, she was the assistant to IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch.

From Olympic Games to visits to every national Olympic committee, Inchauspe was with Samaranch nearly every step of the way.

She is one of the few staff members at IOC headquarters with links to the Samaranch era.

Inchauspe was recognized at the conclusion of the IOC Session earlier this month in Monaco. IOC president Thomas Bach commended her professionalism and perseverance.

And he noted that after so much time at the center of the IOC, "the who's who of the Olympic Movement has almost no secret from her."

She is headed to retirement in the Basque region of her native Spain.
