The 71st ANOC Executive Council met in Doha today with the reports of the nine ANOC Commissions and Working Groups dominating the agenda as the Association continues to harness the experience and expertise of its members in order to improve the support it provides the world’s NOCs.
The chairs of each of the ANOC Commissions and Working Groups made their reports to the Executive Council following their meetings in Doha on 13 November and the morning of 14 November. The reports will be presented to the ANOC General Assembly on 15 November.
The ANOC Executive Council also received an update on the work that ANOC has contributed to the IOC alongside ASOIF and AIOWF to create a template to facilitate cooperation between national authorities and sports organisations in a country. ANOC is also exploring further cooperation opportunities with UNESCO to further assist in this regard.
ANOC President Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah said:
"The Executive Council meeting here in Doha was very productive. We heard nine excellent reports from the chairs of our Commissions and Working Groups who will report their progress to the ANOC General Assembly tomorrow. It is very important that we continue to ensure that our Commissions and Working Groups deliver initiatives that have a real impact on the quality of the support ANOC provides its NOCs. It is not just a matter of saying the right things but also taking action and I believe the NOCs will be happy with the progress that has been made when they hear the reports in the General Assembly."
