Compeed to launch Race Director Program, offer samples at USA Triathlon-owned events

USA Triathlon today announced a partnership with Compeed, an expert brand of hydrocolloid gel cushions for the treatment and prevention of blisters, as the organization’s Exclusive Blister Care Partner through 2023.

Compeed Advanced Blister Care cushions use hydrocolloid technology, an active gel with moisture absorbing particles, which is ideal for blister treatment and relief. Compeed products are hypoallergenic, waterproof and sweat-resistant, allowing the skin to breathe while insulating the wound from bacteria and other irritants. The brand has a 97 percent user satisfaction rating, one of the highest ratings among blister care bandages.

Compeed will offer its Advanced Blister Care products for sampling at USA Triathlon’s four owned National Championships — Collegiate Club, Duathlon, Toyota Age Group and Youth & Junior — as well as the Legacy Triathlon and Toyota USA Paratriathlon National Championships.

In addition, the brand will launch a Race Director Program that gives race directors of USA Triathlon-sanctioned events the opportunity to receive free products from Compeed to sample at their events. Race directors will receive additional details from USA Triathlon about how to apply for the program.

Compeed will also be a Contributing Partner of USA Triathlon-hosted virtual events, which in 2021 include the #DreamingSeason Virtual Challenge, USA Duathlon Virtual Run-Bike-Run and the Power Within Virtual Tri to Tokyo.

"Nothing can derail an athlete’s training or race-day experience like a painful blister," said Victoria Brumfield, Chief Business Development Officer and Chief of Staff at USA Triathlon. "Not only do Compeed’s products help treat blisters, but they also stay in place no matter how long you plan to ride or run — which is key for endurance athletes. USA Triathlon is proud to partner with Compeed, and we look forward to expanding our reach with a presence in drugstores and grocery stores nationwide."

"We are thrilled to partner with USA Triathlon," said Corinne Tocmacov, Compeed Marketing Manager. "It is a perfect fit for Compeed, who targets active lifestyle enthusiasts and athletes. With over 40 years of experience, Compeed is the expert choice in Blister Care and enjoys one of the highest product review ratings and user satisfaction scores. Unlike ordinary bandages, Compeed provides 10 times more pain relief, heals 20% faster, and stays in place 50% longer. Compeed is waterproof and can stay in place for several days, making it perfect for sports lovers, endurance athletes and professional triathletes alike."

Compeed’s blister care products are available to purchase online at Amazon.com, CVS.com, Walgreens.com, RiteAid.com, and ShopRite.com. In addition, they can be found in-store in the First Aid and Foot Care aisles at select CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Giant, Stop & Shop, ShopRite, Albertsons, Safeway, Harmon, Biy Y, Wegmans, Kinney Drug, Giant Eagle, Weis, Bartell Drugs, Bed Bath & Beyond, Raley’s and Pharmaca stores.
