A record number of nations are expected at the 2017 ITF Conference and AGM in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on 1-4 August.
ITF President David Haggerty will welcome representatives from 116 national associations as he plans to show how the International Tennis Federation is delivering its ITF2024 strategy for its members.
"We will show our nations the results that we are achieving as a result of the change in attitude and approach from the ITF," explained Haggerty. "Now more than ever, is the time for us to work together for the common good to ensure that the nations benefit and the ITF maximizes its opportunities and potential.
"This year’s ITF Conference and AGM is the most important meeting that the ITF has held in many years."
Throughout the week there will be a series of interactive sessions, open committee meetings and question and answer opportunities to allow member nations the opportunity to have their say.
Haggerty added: "It is my strong belief that every nation must have a voice within the ITF. Over the last year, I travelled and met with many national and regional associations to help their development efforts and relations with governments, National Olympic Committees and sponsors. I have visited 43 nations and all six regions to better understand their concerns and ideas."
On 1 August the ITF Board will meet with all six Regional Association presidents and General Secretaries ahead of the official opening of the Conference on 2 August.
Nations will hear how ITF2024 is bringing substantive ideas and programs to help develop the next generation of players, fans and spectators with an update on the Development strategy as well as plans to restructure the entry-level of professional tennis.
There will be an open session to review the proposed format changes to Davis Cup and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas, and delegates will be informed about ITF revenue growth and the distribution of new funds.
A session on 3 August will provide information about ITF engagement programs designed to increase interaction and collaboration with member nations.
There will be a series of breakout sessions during the week, including an update from the ITF’s media rights partner, beIN Sports, a Rules of Tennis Forum and information about the process for nominations for and appointments to ITF Committees and Commissions.
During the formal session of the Annual General Meeting on 4 August, delegates will vote on a series of Davis Cup and Fed Cup reforms, as well as constitutional amendments and candidates for ITF Services to the Game Awards.
The first International Tennis Hall of Fame Global Organisation of Distinction Award will also be presented.
The location and date of the 2018 ITF Conference and AGM will be announced at the conclusion of the meeting.
