IAAF SEEKING CANDIDATES FOR INDEPENDENT MEMBER OF ATHLETICS INTEGRITY UNIT BOARD APPOINTMENTS PANEL

The IAAF is seeking candidates to become the Independent Member of the Athletics Integrity Unit Board Appointments Panel.

The Athletics Integrity Unit Board Appointments Panel was established to identify, recruit, assess and make recommendations to Member Federations of persons to be appointed to the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) Board. The Panel is required to make recommendations for three independent members of the AIU Board.

The Appointments Panel consists of three members, one of whom is an independent member with experience in governance and the functions and appointment process of directors. This member will be appointed by the IAAF Council at its meeting on 1 October 2019, and serve alongside co-panel members who include the Chair of the Athletics Integrity Unit Board and a Council Member, appointed by Council.

The period of appointment of the Appointments Panel is from 1 October 2019 through to the next IAAF Congress in 2023. However, most of the Appointments Panel’s responsibilities will occur in the period from January to April 2023 and, subject to Congress approval of a proposal to increase the number of independent members on the AIU Board from three to five, from November 2019 to February 2020.

The position on the Panel is a voluntary one. However the IAAF will reimburse any travel or other expenses incurred in the role and provide a nominal allowance.

L'IAAF est à la recherche de candidats pour occuper le poste de membre indépendant du Panel de nomination au Bureau de l’Unité d’intégrité de l’athlétisme.

Le Panel de nomination au Bureau de l’Unité d’intégrité de l’athlétisme a été établi pour identifier, recruter, évaluer et recommander aux Fédérations membres des futurs membres du Bureau de l'Unité d’intégrité de l’athlétisme (UIA). Le Panel est tenu de recommander trois personnes qui siègeront comme membres indépendants de ce Bureau.

Le Panel de nomination est composé de trois membres, dont l'un est un membre indépendant ayant de l'expérience en matière de gouvernance ainsi que dans les fonctions et le processus de nomination des directeurs. Ce membre sera nommé par le Conseil de l'IAAF lors de sa réunion du 1er octobre 2019. Il siégera aux côtés des autres membres du Panel que sont le Président du Bureau de l'Unité d’intégrité de l’athlétisme et un Membre du Conseil, nommé par le Conseil.

Le mandat des membres du Panel de nomination court du 1er octobre 2019 jusqu’au prochain Congrès électoral en 2023. Cependant, la plupart des responsabilités du Panel de nomination seront assumées entre janvier 2023 et avril 2023. Elles pourraient également être assumées dès novembre 2019 jusqu’en février 2020 mais cela dépend de l'approbation ou non d'une proposition visant à porter de 3 à 5 le nombre de membres indépendants siégeant au Bureau de l'UIA.

Le poste à pourvoir est bénévole. Néanmoins, l'IAAF remboursera tous les frais de voyage ou autres frais encourus dans l'exercice de cette fonction, le cas échéant, et fournira une indemnité symbolique.
