Handball, Roller Sports and Boules Sport Join the Olympic Channel

The agreements with the IHF, FIRS and CMSB bring the number of partners who have announced similar agreements with the Olympic Channel to 57.

On the heels of its one-year anniversary, the Olympic Channel today announced that it has reached cooperation agreements with the international governing bodies for handball, roller sports and skateboarding as well as boules sport to collaborate on content for the multi-platform global media destination.

The agreements with the International Handball Federation (IHF), Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) and World Confederation of Boules Sports (CMSB) bring the number of partners who have announced similar agreements with the Olympic Channel to 57.

"We are excited to welcome these three federations to the Olympic Channel," said Mark Parkman, general manager of the Olympic Channel. "We look forward to working together in our collective efforts to help expand the reach of these sports through the creation and distribution of content to fans worldwide."

In 2017, the Olympic Channel will present nearly 500 live transmissions across 190 events in coordination with its partners to audiences around the globe. Recent events include live streaming coverage for multi-sport events such as the The World Games 2017 and world championships in 3x3 basketball, archery, badminton, boxing, sport climbing and wrestling.

In addition to live event streaming, the Olympic Channel works with its federation partners to present event coverage, highlights, magazine shows, news coverage and original programming providing an additional platform to distribute content that are complementary to current broadcast and distribution arrangements.
