(ATR) Global Sports Week Paris is making a strong case for the event with the best venues.
It was revealed this week that the Eiffel Tower will serve as the main stage for the second edition of what will be a hybrid event scheduled for February 1-5, 2021. The inaugural Global Sports Week Paris was held at the Louvre in February 2020.
The forum is billed by organizers as the ‘rendezvous of the year’ for the world sports economy, with the 2021 edition taking the theme of "reinvention in action".
The 2021 Global Sports Week concept and program will include a mix of physical and digital events with speakers linked live across studio settings in Paris and five future Olympic host cities – Beijing, Tokyo, Milan, Dakar and Los Angeles. Access for delegates will be mainly online.
Paris will remain the event’s epicenter, with the Eiffel Tower venue promising a spectacular backdrop for speakers and digital participants alike.
The main event studio will be set-up in the Salon Gustave Eiffel, suspended 57 meters (187 feet) above ground at the heart of the Eiffel Tower structure.
"The Eiffel Tower is a landmark venue for a landmark event, and a statement of our global ambition," Lucien Boyer, co-founder and president of Global Sports Week, said in a statement.
"Now, more than ever, multilateral forums such as Global Sports Week are crucial, because multilateral action will be needed to seize the full opportunity of this new era in sport and society."
Organizers say more than 10,000 sports leaders, cultural changemakers, athletes, activists and emerging talents are expected to participate across Global Sports Week.
The second edition will again be held under the patronage of UNESCO and the high patronage of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Global Sports Week will also feature a first-of-its-kind virtual exhibition – the GSWMarketplace – comprising immersive, customizable and interactive booths, accessible for businesses and organizations of all types and sizes.
ArtAccord to Debut at SportAccord 2021
SportAccord will introduce a new creative concept for the 2021 edition in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
ArtAccord will give delegates the opportunity to experience pieces of art in an intimate, gallery-like setting after being introduced to some of Russia’s best and brightest artists.
The event will kick-off on May 23, the first day of the six-day long SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit 2021.
"We have always been keen to showcase local artistic and cultural offerings at the SportAccord World Sport & Business Summit, providing delegates with an insight into the fabric of our host cities, regions and countries," SportAccord Managing Director Nis Hatt said in a statement.

With more than 1,500 key decision-makers representing at least 1,000 different organizations and over 150 cities and regions in attendance, the six-day event in March, April or May each year features high-level meetings, a conference program split into multiple sector-specific ‘streams’, a bustling exhibition and numerous social events for delegates.

Sportel Monaco Offering Covid-19 Refunds
Sportel Monaco remains on target as a face-to-face event from February 22-24, 2021.
But organizers have released refund plans for participants who are prevented from travelling due to Covid-19 restrictions.
A full refund for those who rented a stand at the event will be issued if Sportel Monaco is notified in writing before January 23. Visitor pass refunds will be granted as long as the organizers are notified before February 21.
Sportel Monaco says it will be following the recommendations of authorities in France and Monaco to ensure the safety of those who will be attending the event at the Grimaldi Forum. Among the requirements are mandatory face masks, temperature checks, and social distancing, including a separate entrance and exit for both the main exhibition hall and for all conference rooms.
