Flyweight fighters - meet the boxers competing in the APB 52kg category

 AIBA Pro Boxing has announced some of the best boxing talent in the world will be competing in its revolutionary new tournament.

Lausanne, Switzerland, July 21, 2014 - AIBA Pro Boxing has announced some of the best boxing talent in the world will be competing in its revolutionary new tournament.

The Flyweight division (52kg) is no different, with a vast array of exciting boxing prowess from around the world on show. Athletes will be looking to achieve APB glory and ultimately qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

This division will feature current World Champion and global star Mikhail Aloian, who also won the bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Joining the Russian will be Italian international Vincenzo Picardi, who won medals at Beijing 2008 and London 2012, as well as Uzbekistan’s Jasurbek Latipov, who won the silver medal at the 2013 AIBA World Boxing Championships in Almaty.

French professional fighter and former holder of the WBC Mediterranean flyweight title, Redouane Asloum, will join the ranks alongside Algerian Mohammed Flissi, a silver medalist at the 2013 AIBA World Boxing Championships and 2012 London Olympian.

WSB franchise Argentina Condors’ boxer Fernando Martinez and another two former Olympians, Kazakh fighter Ilyas Suleimenov and Bulgarian Aleksandar Aleksandrov complete a fantastic field of fighters that will compete in a solid APB group. Full profiles of all boxers of this category are now exclusively available on the APB website

The profiles of boxers in each weight division will be unveiled periodically in separate announcements, and a full list of profiles for APB boxers in all weight categories will be published on the website in September.
