FIBA, the International Basketball Federation, and Twitter will provide fans unique access to players right after the games during the Final Phase of the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship and EuroBasket 2015.

Fans are encouraged to come up with questions they want to ask their favourite players during the post-game press conferences which will be shown on Periscope, Twitter's live video broadcasting app.

At each press conference of both continental championships – which can also be viewed on youtube.com/fiba – one fan's question will be asked in real time to a player from the winning team.

This is the first time Periscope allows fans access to a place previously reserved only to accredited media.

This partnership between FIBA and Twitter will be in place for the Semi-Finals and Finals of the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship (Friday-Saturday 11-12 September) and for the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals of EuroBasket 2015 (Tuesday 15-Sunday 20 September).

FIBA and Twitter have previously worked together on a large-scale and cutting edge collaboration to bring fans closer to the action, with last year’s launch of the '@FIBA scores' functionality, which enables users to find out in real time the scores of games.

The feature has been in place for all of the 2015 continental championships, providing users with live and mobile access to game scores and results, by simply tweeting '@FIBA scores' followed by the hashtag of the corresponding tournament.
