SIGA’s Global CEO, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, is joining the business leaders of the twenty major economies as the newest member of the Business Twenty, commonly known as B20.
The B20 is the official G20 dialogue forum with the global business community. Established in 2010, reserved to companies and business organisations, it is among the most prominent G20 Engagement Groups. The official start of the Italian B20 presidency takes place this Thursday and Friday, 21 and 22 January, with a series of both public and closed-doors online sessions, where policy-makers, international organisations and major companies’ CEOs will address the global economic agenda and most urgent priorities.
The B20 Italy priorities will focus on the following critical areas: Trade and Investment; Energy and Resource Efficiency; Integrity and Compliance; Employment and Education; Digital Transformation; Finance and Infrastructure; and Health and Life Sciences.
With a 30-year career built in Portugal and internationally, in law, politics, media and sport, Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros is a lawyer by trade, specialising in sports management, sports law, economic development and anti-corruption. Before co-founding SIGA and being elected CEO three years ago, he held several prominent roles in European and world football, having co-founded and led the Association of European Professional Football Leagues and the World League Association as elected CEO for a decade, in addition to other relevant functions at UEFA, FIFA, European Union, OEDC, World Economic Forum, ICSS Insight and Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Commenting on his new role ahead of this week’s B20 inaugural session, Emanuel Macedo deMedeiros stated:
