(ATR) A first for Indonesian sport gives organizers confidence the Asian Games will be accessible for the public.

INASGOC, the organizing committee for the 18th Asian Games in Indonesia this August, partnered with KiosTix to sell over 1 million tickets for the event.

Typically, event organizers are responsible for sales at Indonesian sporting events, often leaving no option for fans to purchase tickets in advance. KiosTix primarily handles sales for concerts and exhibitions.

"This is the first time that the organizers of an international sports event in Indonesia have partnered with an Indonesian ticket company," said Erick Thohir, INASGOC president, at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

The Asian Games will take place August 18-September 2 in Palembang and Jakarta. Tickets will begin at 30,000 Rupiah (2 USD) and the average price will be around 100,000 Rupiah (7 USD). An online sales service for international customers will also be made available.

Tickets go on sale at the end of June.

Free Television Coverage for Team Handball in Scandinavia

The European Handball Federation signed a long-term agreement with Nordic Entertainment Group to broadcast all team competitions featuring Denmark, Norway, Sweden, or Finland.

Infront and Perform Group, who signed a 10-year deal with EHF starting in 2020, brokered the deal.

The agreement includes three men’s and women’s EHF EURO events and men’s and women’s Beach Handball EURO events, including qualification matches. Club competitions are also part of the deal.

EHF EURO matches and main club competitions involving these countries will be broadcast live for free, including away qualifying matches.

Nordic Entertainment Group will air other matches not involving national teams or clubs from these countries.

"Handball is immensely popular across Scandinavia and we are delighted to have secured a deal with NENT Group that guarantees handball fans in the region not only free-to-air coverage but also a comprehensive package of both club and national team competitions,"Martin Hausleitner, EHF secretary general, said in a statement.

IFSC Issue Japan Rights Renewal

Starting next year, the International Federation of Sport Climbing plans on packaging sponsorship and mediatogether to increase total value in the Japanese market.

Their current deal with Synca Creations is in its final year. Hakuhodo DY is the current marketing sponsor for IFSC’s Japanese member association.

The Japanese market for sports climbing has grown dramatically in recent years.

"The growing awareness of sport climbing is visible in a booming use of values, codes, athletes and images of our amazing sport by more and more international brands, all around the world, " Marco Scolaris, president of IFSC, said in a statement. "The market and key commercial actors are recognizing the assets of sport climbing and this interest has catapulted the sport into the arena of main stream sports, and a world full of possibilities."
