International e-Sports Federation (IeSF) and Appnori have agreed on a partnership to promote VR esports.

Appnori is a company specializing in VR sports games, which develops realistic and dynamic sports contents using the VR platform. Well known for its unique and dynamic technologies, the company has been receiving direct investment from HTC VIVE, a global top VR device company, and Gamevil Inc., making rapid progress in collaboration with Taiwan’s professional

baseball team (Lamigo Monkeys).

The VR industry is both expanding in both size and scale, receiving a lot of attention from gaming businesses for its potential synergies. With the continued technological advances, VR esport is already demolishing the existing barriers with reality, bridging the gap between traditional sports and esports. The next level for the VR industry is how VR technology can be promoted to be enjoyed by the general public.

"The VR industry has already made several breakthroughs in terms of hardware." said Alex Lim, the Secretary General of IeSF. "VR contents will grow explosively in the future, and it is time to adapt quickly to expand the scope of esports. In this regard, we are pleased to work with Appnori. VR and esports combined will create various synergies and will be the next combination for esports to expand. IeSF will make sure that esports is not only about creating business but also to look for creation of universal values for society, and to take care of the people involved in the industry as well."
